NotTiled is a free, open-source, and multi-platform tile map editor. It is based on the Tiled Map Editor by Thorbjørn Lindeijer.
What NotTiled offers:
- Create/edit .tmx files on the go with support for lua/json/csv export.
- Create custom maps for games that support .tmx maps such as Rusted Warfare.
- Create pixel images/animations for games.
- Create music using jfugue notation with support for midi export.
- Create photo mosaics to showcase to friends.
- Create 2D tabletop RPG map designs with exporting capabilities to PNG.
- Create silly platformer/RPG-styled mini-games.
- Create cross-stitch patterns from photos (why not?).
- And much more, especially tasks that require tiling arrangements.
